Any time we see a site with a gimmick, we all give a collective groan—because these sites are NEVER any good.
We tried to give ULust.com a chance, even despite the terrible website name, but from the second we signed on? We knew it was going to be nothing but a scam and a waste of time.
So, were we right? Do gimmicks ever work? Let’s take a closer look at ULust.com and see why we hate this site and sites like it so much.
Our Review of ULust.com Reveals Why They Didn’t Make It Into Our Top 5 Sites for Adult Personals Dating
A growing number of adult personals sites, dating hookup sites, and casual sex sites are making use of gimmicks in their advertising and in their site design. We’re not completely against gimmicks, but we do think that they’re rarely if ever done well enough to justify the whole gimmick thing.
The gimmick that ULust.com uses is cell number exchange.
Hey, remember that time you felt the need to give out your cell phone number on the Internet to total strangers? Yeah, neither do we, because we’re not absolute lunatics.
We live in a world where the guys from Internet security firms get their identities stolen. We’re hardly going to give out our real email address to someone we don’t know, much less our cell phone number.
Maybe some dudes have a burner they don’t mind buying and tossing when they’ve gotten laid enough to serve their purposes, but we’re not exactly rolling in enough money to have a cell phone for each girl we’re hooking up with—and yes, that’s because we have a lot of hookups, but it’s also because we’re not totally immune to the threat of Internet privacy invasion.
Anyway, cell phone numbers online are bad business, and this is a stupid idea for a website. But the real question isn’t whether the site ULust.com is a bad idea, it’s whether the site ULust.com WORKS.
So, does it?
Our Unbiased Results After Using ULust.com For Three Months
During our ULust review, we sent out messages to 450 women on the site. We were pretty sure it was going to be a bust, but hey, we’d already bought the subscriptions. There was a possibility that we were wrong, or that some girl might have accidentally joined ULust.com while looking for a cooking class or something, and we could get lucky.
Sadly, we did not get lucky. We got nine messages back. NINE, out of 450 total sent.
If that isn’t a bust, we don’t know what is. None of those nine were even there accidentally looking for a cooking class, either. They all seemed to be spambots, or occasionally a form letter saying that they just weren’t interested.
We had no dates as a result of ULust.com, and we didn’t get laid at all during our three month trial.
So Was ULust.com Worth Your Time At All, Or Was ULust.com A Scam?
You could buy a lot of things for $30, the price of a one-month subscription to ULust.com. You could buy:
- A used video game
- An old chair on Craigslist
- A bad ticket to an okay band
- A round of drinks for anyone at any bar, where you’d be more likely to hook up with a girl than you would be on a crappy, worthless, useless site like ULust.com.
Our Verdict: Should You Use ULust.com For Adult Personals?
There’s no reason for you to waste your time or money on ULust.com. This is a site that isn’t worth visiting. It’s not worth thinking about. You don’t want to spend anything on ULust.com, because the site will give nothing back. We NEVER got laid here, and we doubt anyone else has, either!
Instead, check out EroticAds. That’s our favorite site for meeting women, because the girls are actually real and down to hook up!
